TheOpenDoor Inclusive Workshop

Some children are expected to fit the system. We help the system fit around them.

We work with schools and families to make sure every child is seen, understood, and supported, not as an exception, but as the standard.

Our Identity

Who We Are

Many children fall between mainstream schools and special education, capable, deserving, and slowly losing confidence in systems that were never built for them. Their challenges are real. They just aren't always visible.

We work at two levels at once: with schools, to build environments where every learner can participate fully; and with families, to make sure their children get the advocacy, clinical support, and continuity of care they deserve.

Inclusion and equity are not values we've added to our work. They are the reason TheOpenDoor exists.

Our Philosophy

Why "TheOpenDoor"

For children with diverse learning needs and neurodivergence, the doors to the education and support they deserve often remain closed, not because the system is cruel, but because it was built without them in mind.

A child with learning differences gets passed from classroom to classroom - too naughty, too distracted, too difficult.

A parent sits across from a school, trying to explain their child's experience to people who have never been given the tools to hear it.

A school that wants to do better doesn't know where to start.

We called this TheOpenDoor because we believe every one of those doors can be opened.

Our Pillars

What We Stand For

Inclusion & Equity

We don't treat inclusion as an afterthought. We build it into every classroom, every curriculum, and every conversation.

Legal & Ethical Compliance

Every child has a right to education and support and the law backs that up. Most schools and families don't know what they're owed. We do.

Educator Support & Growth

We work with educators to provide practical strategies that support diverse learners and create more inclusive, effective classrooms.

Continuity of Care

Support doesn't end at the school gate. We work with children from early identification through adolescence, ensuring continuity, guidance, and support at every stage.

Our Impact

Where We've Worked

Understanding and Supporting Diverse Learners in Special Classrooms

A three-day workshop conducted for the teaching team at Ashraya Centre for Learning, totalling six hours of training in inclusive pedagogy, behaviour support strategies, and classroom differentiation.

Session Highlights: Module 1

Inclusive pedagogy & classroom structure.

Session Highlights: Module 2

Behavior support & responsive dynamics.

Session Highlights: Module 3

Classroom differentiation & support paths.

“The sessions were practical, engaging, and highly relevant to the needs of children with developmental and learning differences. Our teachers gained valuable insights into understanding behaviour as communication, supporting sensory and emotional regulation, and adapting classroom strategies to meet diverse learning needs. The workshop encouraged reflection, strengthened teacher confidence, and provided simple, low-cost techniques that can be implemented immediately in our classrooms. We appreciate TheOpenDoor’s commitment to inclusive education and would be pleased to recommend this programme to other educational institutions.”

Understanding Behaviour: A Look into How Your Child Thinks, Feels and Learns

A parent workshop where we explored why your child behave the way they do, what emotional stress looks like, what are processing differences and how to communicate better at home.

Session Highlights: Part 1

Understanding behaviour & emotional stress.

Session Highlights: Part 2

Processing differences & communicating better at home.

Session Highlights: Part 3

Q&A and open discussion with parents.

“Question and answer session speed was good and open. No guilt feeling involved while discussing the problem gives more space to find the best solution. Very simple to approach.”
